Applications of Benzoyl chloride cas 98-88-4
Benzoyl chloride is used in organic synthesis, and as raw material for dye and medicines. It can be used for manufacturing initiator benzoyl peroxide, tert-butyl peroxide, pesticides herbicides metamitron intermediates. In pesticides, it is intermediate of Isoxathion, Karphos, which is a new inducible insecticide. Benzoyl chloride is an important reagent of benzoylation and benzylation. Most benzoyl chloride is for the production of benzoyl peroxide, then for the production of benzophenone, benzyl benzoate, benzyl cellulose and benzamide. In addition, the reaction of benzoic acid and benzoyl chloride can produce benzoic anhydride. Benzoic anhydride’s main used as acylating agent, and also as component of bleach and flux, it also can be used for the production of benzoyl peroxide.
